Spread the good news
The Dallas / Fort Worth area is huge, and we want to cover every bit of it -- especially the parts that interest you.We know that we can't do that by ourselves. We need your help.
Pegasus News depends on news and information contributions from the community. Although our staff of professional journalists will cover traditional news stories, we know that our readers usually “know more than we do” and may want to share their expertise with the entire community. Therefore, we would like to amplify our readers' voices by helping them post stories, columns, audio and video on subjects about which they are most passionate.
Because Pegasus News is not constrained by print space limitations, we have the ability to write about niche topics that other media may not cover. For example, parents will be able to submit stories and pictures from their kids’ youth sports leagues, and local jazz musicians can post recordings of their original compositions.
Here are the current ways you can contribute. We'll be adding more in the future:
Post a comment.
Almost every page on our site has space for you to post on-topic comments. Registered users can post comments. Verified users can embed photos and video (from YouTube, Google, or MySpace) in their comments.
Be a tipster.
Know about something we should be covering that we aren't? We'd love to run something that you write on the topic, but if that's not your thing, you can send us a tip and we'll get on it ASAP.
Submit an event.
If you know of or are involved in a local event that isn't in our list, please submit it. If it is local, legal and open to the public, we guarantee we'll list it. If you see a mistake in an existing listing, you can post a correction in the comments, or email us.
Submit a deal.
Know of a special sale or rare product available in town? We track those in our shopping section. You can submit a deal, and if we agree it's a good one, we'll post it.
Submit stories, opinion essays, photos, audio or video.
You know more about the things you love than we ever could. We'd rather hear from you than from a reporter who's there just because it's their job. And if you've shot photos, performed original songs, or shot video around town, we'd love to get that seen by a larger audience. Within reason, if it's local and legal, we'll run what you send us. Because we aren't constrained by print limitations and can customize content to get it to those most interested, we're a big tent.

Use the TexasGigs Flickr tag.
If you take pictures of local concerts, you can post them directly to our TexasGigs music section by posting them on Flickr and placing the tag "texasgigs" on them. Nearly 2,500 pictures have already been posted.
Note that this is only for music-related pictures right now. We may try some other tags for other areas of the site soon.
Become a content partner.
If you are a local publisher or blogger who wants more exposure for your content, we'll happily run it on Pegasus News. Even with just our music site, we're doing well in excess of one million pageviews per month, and running content on our site is a great way to drive local eyeballs back to your site, or to interest web-centric readers in your print publication. We're easy to work with, and will work with you to find an arrangement that helps both of us. Right now, we can only pay you in traffic and promotion, but in the future it is our intent to share ad revenues with our more prolific partners. We can do everything from running one piece of your content, to negotiating permission to pick up one specific type of content from your site, to running everything you do here and (if you desire) relieving you of the technological worries of publishing a website.
If you're interested in talking about a partnership, let us know.
Although we will gladly accept submissions on any family-safe topic, following is a list of topics in which we particularly desire contributions. Please note that we are most interested in things that are inherently local, and those items will be displayed most prominently on our site.

Dallas Symphony Orchestra - Blue Planet Live The DSO dwarfed by images of towering whale flukes and (I'm guessing at some point) penguins! This might be just what the doctor ordered as an alternative to the numerous fireworks shows going on (a full night early) around the area. Show those July 3rd cheaters what for by attending this event instead! More info
