Description

The Heard Wildlife Sanctuary is host to over 240 species of birds. Some species are there only seasonally, while others live there year-round. Some are rare visitors who appear unpredictably, causing much excitement in the birdwatching community. Others are found there reliably on almost any nature hike.

While birds are among the most charismatic creatures found at the Heard, they are more than "pretty faces." Heard relies on the birds found there to give them critical data relating to both the health of the wildlife sanctuary and natural areas nationwide, and even globally. This data is gathered through there bird banding station, during there nest box monitoring program, and annually during the Christmas Bird Count.

Beer Tasting at Kindred Spirits "He must have been an admiral, a sultan, or a king, and to his praises we shall always sing. Look what he has done for us, he's filled us up with cheer! Lord bless Charlie Mops, the man who invented beer, beer, beer, tiddly beer, beer, beer..." I have my beer drinking song ready. Do you? More info
