Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center announced today that due to construction delays beyond the resort’s control, the opening of its highly-anticipated Glass Cactus nightclub, located on the shores of Lake Grapevine, has been postponed to September 20, 2006.

“Although moving back our opening date is a tough decision, Gaylord prides itself on delivering a superior product,” said John Imaizumi, senior vice president and general manager of Gaylord Texan Resort. "We look forward to opening the doors of our high-energy, high excitement venue that will provide an unforgettable nightclub experience for its visitors.”

Designed to dazzle the senses, the nightclub will entertain guests with lavish interiors, seductive lighting effects, and multiple alluring destinations – all within its captivating canyon walls. The menu will feature a sassy selection of creative appetizers, gorgeous cocktails, upscale “club cuisine” and tequilas from one of the largest selections in Texas. Additionally, Glass Cactus will offer 39,000 square feet of space, including several signature bars, an entertainment stage and dance floor, an exclusive VIP level, and a 13,000-square-foot multi-tiered outdoor deck overlooking breathtaking sunsets on the lake.

Nightly live music, ranging from country to blues to rock n’ roll, will embrace the diverse traditions of music for which Texas is known. To stir the senses, performances will be synchronized with state-of-the-art sound, lighting, and video systems. Special performances by a variety of musical talents will open each evening, followed by music and dancing throughout the night.

As with all of the resort’s restaurants, parking will be validated and offered complimentary for local guests.

Glass Cactus Giving Back:

In Gaylord Entertainment’s constant effort to give back to the community, Glass Cactus will be the official home of “The Texas Music Project,” a cooperative of Texas musicians and educators who share a common goal of strengthening music programs in Texas schools and communities.
