— It maybe surprising to know how often women suffer in silence year after year, going through life with a smile on their face from day to day. Yet, deep down inside, they may be wondering how much longer they will have to carry their burden. Many of these want to lay their burdens down, but don’t know that Christ is waiting to lift their burdens, or they have no idea how to let them go.

“On July 25, 2008 after much prayer and being strongly inspired by the Holy Spirit, we will begin the 2008 Prayer Crusade,” said Dr. Angela S. King, founder of Women Praying for Christ Ministries, Inc. and Dr. Angela S. King Ministries.

WPFCM, an international prayer ministry based in Dallas, will hold a free Prayer Shut-In on July 25 to kick off its first Prayer Crusade. The events are for women only. The crusade will be lead by King, whose work for the Lord includes evangelism, spiritual teaching, motivational speaking and talk show host for Women Let’s Talk.

With the theme, “The Lord’s response to prayer,” the shut-ins will also include Prayer 101 Sessions, explaining the who, what, when, where and how of prayer. Attendees will experience the presence of the Lord in a non-threatening atmosphere, where they can release their heart to God in praise and worship. Each woman can rejoice and pray with freedom judgment, pride or self-image.

There have been shut-in in the past, hosted by WPFCM, in which many lives have been touched and many prayers have been answered. However, the crusade is set up to do just that and more. With this crusade, the ministry plans on making a bigger impact and reaching more women.

The sessions are an opportunity to received prayer covering support and experience bondages and strongholds being broken. Speakers will tackle complicated and controversial subjects, such as: forgiveness, envy, illness, racism, injustice, physical challenges, demonic spirits, curses, evil principalities, unbelief, negative thinking, debt, homosexuality, molestation and domestic violence.

The first shut-in will be held at Open Bible Fellowship Church, located 2701 Briarwood Drive in Plano. Doors will open at 11 p.m. and look at midnight. No one will be allowed in or out of the church until 6 a.m. Participants and guests are urged to fast Monday through Thursday each morning until noon, then eat a light dinner. On Friday, the fast should include no food after 6 p.m. All attendees must register by July 23 for the first shut-in.

The next shut-in will be held on Aug. 29 at New Bethel Baptist Church in El Dorado, Ark. Future crusades will be held September in Houston, October in North Carolina and November in Louisiana.

The Prayer Crusades will start in the Southern states, but they will not limit their work and commitment there. The crusade will continue throughout the United States and eventually internationally, as well.

Women Praying For Christ prayer lock-in

  • When: Saturday, July 26, 2008, midnight to 6 a.m.
  • Where: Open Bible Fellowship Church, 2701 Briarwood Drive, Plano
  • Cost: Free
  • Age limit: All ages

“This crusade will bring intercessors together all over America, Africa and our nation, with whole families participating together. Our goal is to have all 24 hours covered daily with prayer ascending perpetually to the throne of God,” King continued. “Words may fail to adequately convey the urgency. But just look around you at the situation in our poor sin-sick world, the situation in our schools, and among our youth, the situation within families, the unbelievable stresses everyone is suffering, most of which are caused by the evils in the world – not the least of which, of course, are the wars and the terrorism. Look around you at the way God is now mocked more than ever.”

“We want to see the saints of God offering prayers around the clock, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to defeat the work of Satan through the power of prayer, to banish all evil from the earth, and to bring about the reign of the Sacred Heart of Jesus,” said King.

This is so twisted.
These women- the one's with this heavy burden- the only burden they have is believing the rest of these zealots when they tell them they have a burden to begin with.

24 hours of prayer- well that makes a lot of sense now doesn't it?
If the god these folks worship has a grand plan, if he has everyone's fate planned out, if everything that happens is god's will, then what are they trying to do when they pray?
Are they asking their great god to change his plans just for them? Are they expecting that 'he' will stop what he's doing- put his great plans on hold- and individually answer all 24 hours worth of their prayers?
I guess their god hasn't anything else to do! I guess neither do they!

If this wasn't so tragic, I'd say it was funny. These women might actually lead productive lives if it weren't for this...traditionally oppressive, fear-mongering-mumbo jumbo!

I'll stop now.
Peace.

WTF is this? Don't you need a qualifier after the first paragraph, like "Or so says Dr. Angela King..."? You're presenting those statements as fact, and I can assure you there's definitely some debate about certain parts of that paragraph.

Or what about this supposed statement of fact: There have been shut-in(s) in the past, hosted by WPFCM, in which many lives have been touched and many prayers have been answered.

Wow. Really? That's quite a scoop, PegasusNewsWire. I think you should go national with that.

It looks to me like you've done nothing more than cut-and-paste some propagandic email you got and made it into a "story". Disgusting.

Oh wow - synchronicity - I just ended my last post with that very same word!

Rick - Clearly you have never had PMS or a baby so please step lightly when talking about our "burdens". ;-) Although, I'm not sure what a room full of holy rollers could do about all that.

Clearly, you are right- I've never experienced either of those human conditions.

But I'm sure that having your personality and character development stunted by a peer-imposed guilt trip and doctrine would be a similar drag.

Just sayin'!

Oh, jtmbls - you've seen Yost's posts. I'd say he's hit a PMS now and again ;o)

Yeah, Rick and I generally clash on these things, but I gotta scream "uncle" before I even start on this one.

Pour me a beer Rick. Let's just let me sit this one out.
