Fort Woof, Fort Worth’s first fenced off-leash dog park, is located at Gateway Park. The park provides an ideal place for dogs and their owners to have fun.
Fort Woof provides two large fenced areas for dogs to roam, one for dogs 40 pounds and more and a separate area for dogs weighing less than 40 pounds. Each area has picnic tables (no food of any type is allowed in the park) and park benches for humans, a watering station for both humans and dogs, and multiple poop-disposal locations, each with a supply of plastic bags for humans to use when cleaning up after their dogs, as is required by the rules.

Dog Owners beware! Dogs bite!!!! (and humans shoot people... i think that's just part of life.) I'm sorry it happened, but seriously, what percentage of dogs have had this happen to them? and why does it matter that it happened at this park? Does that make this park more unsafe than delivering the mail?

Dog owners beware! My four month old Lab got bitten by a mix American Bulldog/Pitbull. The owner had his dog on a leash and my puppy was picked up by the dog owners friend and held and when he put my dog down, their dog bit my dog. My Lab is currently getting stitches on his nose and face. The dog owner didn't so much as even walk over to see if my dog was ok. The police's response is that you are in there at your own risk! So those of you who have fun-loving, sweet dogs, watch out!

This dog park was voted best in the nation last year. My dog and I highly recommend it!!! Try it out one lazy Sunday afternoon. If you know of anyone researching dog breeds, you can see a lot of different breeds at Cowtown on the weekends.
