You gotta love a restaurant where the following is exchanged:
Me: Can I get the pecan pie please?
Waitress: Sure honey. You want it with butter on top right?
Me: Um...of course.
And sure enough, it came out with a 1/4 stick of butter on top. Yummy.
I love the place, it cracks me up. It's a boon to your ego to be called sweety and honey a half dozen times before the coffee has kicked in.

Love. I love nothing more than a greasy breakfast done right and the Metro does that all day, every day, and for about $4. I get my usual fried eggs, toast, and hashbrowns, and sometimes vary it up with a patty melt on the side. Yes, I said on the side. I'm an eater. Also the jukebox has Old 97s in it! For some reason I love that the music in there hasn't changed since I first went there 6 years ago. If you hear "Nineteen" playing, look in the corner booth- that's probably me carefully extracting the egg whites from the yolk.

Overall for what it is, it's decent. I think it really has that dive greasy spoon feel to it. But the food is pretty decent. They didn't accept CC up until somewhat recently. One of the better places to hit up if you've been out booze hounding it in that part of town.

Park wherever. There will be room.
Generous space in restaurant. Themes seem a little mixed. Moderate work on flow of the room and earthy tones shocked to life by the fact that there is a TV in every eye shot.
Bar side is busier, but more of the same. Most appetizers do well, although the spinach is somewhat lifeless.
Pastas surprise.
The stuffed burgers show signs of life.
Drinks run Asahi level again, but within reason for price.
Overall, worth a visit when not feeling creative.

the best place to eat after you've had a few. Also, the best place to eat the morning after. The menu has everything you want from a valid "greasy spoon" and the coffee doesn't stop flowing. It had a facelift a couple of years back and the interior is reminiscent of the '50's diner... Try the Woody - and the hashbrowns are great.
